BS2-IC Parallax Basic Stamp Module (non soldering programmable kit)
SKU: PLX-BS2IC
Overview
- Basic stamps are small computers using a variation of BASIC called PBASIC to control execution of many applications.
- The BS2-IC has 16 fully programmable I/O pins that can be devices, such as buttons, LEDs, speakers, potentiometers, and shift registers.
- Architecture of a Basic Stamp:
Basic Stamps have a logical design that consists of a 5-volt regulator, resonator, serial EEPROM, and PBASIC interpreter. A proprietary PBASIC program is stored in the non-volatile serial EEPROM, which is read from and written to by the interpreter chip. This interpreter chip fetches the instructions one at a time and performs the appropriate operation on the I/O pins or internal structures within the interpreter. Because the PBASIC program is stored in an EEPROM, it may be programmed and repro-grammed
almost endlessly. Without the need to first erase the memory, as with many microcontrollers. To program BASIC STAMP, you just connect them to an IBM PC or Compatible. - The Basic Stamp II has 16 I/O pins plus two synchromoos serial pins, holds 600 instructions and executes an average of 4000 instructions/sec.
- RAM size is 32 bytes (6 I/O 26 variable) package is 24 pin dip.
