Overview
Highly Sensitive Beta Gamma Geiger Counter Kit
Very sensitive geiger counter kit uses a russian geiger tube which is even more sensitive than the tube used in our C6979 kit. This kit can detect radiation from contamination, old radium watch hands, certain orange colored plates, lantern mantles, radioactive minerals and even radioactive vaseline glass marbles. Produces familiar clicking sound and lights up a bright red LED with each click. Detects background radiation from cosmic rays (here in Scottsdale, Arizona the count is about 14 per minute). When we placed a vaseline glass marble next to the tube, the count went to about 50 per minute. Operates from one 9V battery (not included). Complete with all parts, PC board, and tube. As a bonus we will include a vaseline glass marble. PC board size is 2.5" x 1.5". Skill level 2.
